Antonio Conte is set to take over at Chelsea following this summer’s Euro 2016 when he finishes with the Italian national team.
Conte will become the fifth Italian manager to sit in the Stamford Bridge dugout, following in the footsteps of , Gianluca Vialli, Claudio Ranieri, Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto Di Matteo. All, in their own right, achieved great things, some went above and beyond others.
Conte will be hoping to mirror some of the previous Italians as he looks to rebuild the fallen Premier League champions, who defended their title so poorly under Jose Mourinho.
In terms of players, Chelsea haven’t had many Italians wear the famous Blue shirt, but they have had a few good ones none the less. Some of these players have been great servants to the club, some have created history.
Whilst there haven’t been many, they’ve all come and made their own stories, so, in no particular order, here’re Chelsea top five Italian players.
