Real Betis’ club director, Miguel Torrecilla, has revealed that Chelsea youngster Charley Musonda’s loan deal at the Spanish club is getting no closer to an extension.
Making 16 appearances in La Liga and netting one goal, Musonda spent the second half of last season with Betis.
The Spanish club are keen to extend the midfielder’s stay for the season ahead but have been locked in difficult talks with Chelsea for a number of weeks.

Betis director Torrecilla is adamant that the two parties are getting no closer to agreeing on a deal for the loan extension because of Antonio Conte’s Euro 2016 involvement, and a number of other clubs are interested in Musonda’s services.
Torrecilla told Spanish website El Desmarque:
With Musonda, we are depending on Chelsea’s deadlines. Chelsea have hired a manager who is also national team coach and they are not having time as they would like. It is clear that the player has other alternatives and you have to understand that Chelsea fights for players of world elite. It’s normal that they use Musonda and other loaned players as negotiation tools but we are optimistic. Everything has a limit and we will see in time.
It had been initially reported that the West London outfit had given La Liga side Real Betis the go-ahead to extend the loan deal, but talks were never cemented in agreement.
