Despite his cruciate ligament injury, AS Roma’s Antonio Rudiger’s move to Chelsea could still be on the cards, according to Goal.
After an impressive season on loan at Roma from German side Stuttgart, Rudiger was called up to the German side to travel to the Euro’s this summer, but the defender was forced to withdraw from the squad because of an injury that could potentially rule him out for up to six months.
Roma are looking to make a profit on the 23-year-old, despite only making his move from Stuttgart permanent recently in a deal worth £9m. Rudiger signed a four-year-deal with the Italian club.

Since the switch to Roma, the valuation of the German has heavily increased, and incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is weighing up options to bring with him to Stamford Bridge to steady up the defence.
Chelsea and Roma met in April to hold discussions about a potential move for Rudiger, who was impressive during his 30 appearances in the Serie A last season.
Radja Nainggolan and Kostas Manolas are also of an interest to the West London club, with the Belgian international being a key target for Conte this summer, ahead of the new season.
