Reports coming out of Italy this week are suggesting that Antonio Conte is wanting to bring former-Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini back to Stamford Bridge in a coaching role.
The former-Italian goalkeeper was a fans favourite during his time at Stamford Bridge and it took only a world-class goalkeeper in Petr Cech to come in and displace Cudicini back in 2004.
After sitting as a back-up in his later years to the Czech international, he did make the horrid move across London to bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur, but all has been forgiven for the first goalkeeper in my lifetime to really put Chelsea on the map.
He ended his playing career in America with LA Galaxy and has since been enjoying retirement, but is now said to be looking for a move back into football, and Chelsea is one of a number of options.
But Cudicini isn’t the only player to have been both a player and a member of staff at Chelsea. Some have worked out, some have not but here are just six of the most notable.
