Chelsea are among one of the many top European clubs that ‘fascinates’ Paul Pogba, according to the Frenchman’s agent Mino Raiola as reported by The Evening Standard.
Despite opening transfer negotiations with Real Madrid this week, Pogba’s agent still maintains that Chelsea are a viable option for his client. Pogba is currently playing for hosts France in Euro 2016, and his performances have not drawn the sort of attention that his global significance would suggest.
Although this hasn’t stopped numerous newspaper outlets from touting him with a big money move to one of Europe’s elite clubs this summer.
Pogba’s France team take on the Republic of Ireland this Sunday, and talks about his future will be ongoing throughout the tournament, despite his potentially lacklustre performances.
This sort of news will come as music to Chelsea fans’ ears, with the atrocious performances of Nemanja Matic and the limited versatility of John Obi Mikel, there is a definite call for a combative and dynamic box to box midfielder, who emulates the sort of qualities that Patrick Vieira possessed.
Most Chelsea fans have dreamt of a midfielder who has shades of both Michael Essien, someone with a powerful attacking presence with a crunching tackle and a powerful left foot combined with Claude Makelele, a steady defensive pivot who can play it simple with an unerring composure.
However due to Pogba’s current high profile, expect any transfer negotiations to be drawn out and much deliberated.
