Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt’s chief financial officer Oliver Frankenbach has today confirmed that the club has been in touch with Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City, according to German outlet, FAZ.
Following a 16th placed finish in the German top flight last season, the club are looking to bring in a number of fresh faces ahead of next season, as they aim to improve their position.
After their finishing position in the table, the Frankfurt supporters were put through a relegation play-off against Nurnberg, in order to retain their Bundesliga status.
The German side are now exploring the options given to them when it comes to bringing talent into the squad, and the CFO has admitted that contact has been made with both Chelsea and Manchester City, regarding loan deals for a number of players.
The deals asked for by Frankfurt would probably be for some of the academy’s finest, in a similar fashion to the agreement Chelsea hold with Eredivisie side, Vitesse Arnhem.
We have to look to find players who anywhere else would not come to just train at a top club. We have already had contact with Manchester City and Chelsea. With such teams, loan deals are a good option and promise advantages for both sides.
