Remy: We’re all enjoying working with Conte

Chelsea striker Loic Remy has revealed how he and his fellow teammates are all ‘enjoying’ life under a new manager.

Antonio Conte took charge of his first training session with the Blues last Wednesday following his Euro 2016 exploits with Italy, and has already received praise for his training methods from Oscar, and now Remy.

The Frenchman, who came on for the final 10 minutes of Chelsea’s pre-season friendly against Rapid Vienna, told the Blues’ official website how the players are all enjoying Conte’s style.

There are very intense sessions but at the same time you have to work on the basics. It’s very tactical which is good for us, because as players you need to have direction and know what to do with and without the ball. It’s been very tough but all the players are enjoying working with the new manager.

Remy featured in a Chelsea shirt against Rapid Vienna for the first time since picking up an injury against Aston Villa towards the end of last season, partnering Bertrand Traore for the final minutes.

And the 29-year-old, who has been looking sharp in training following his time on the sidelines, is now ready to turn a new leaf with the club and start to enjoy his football again.

It’s good to be back and for me it’s very important that I don’t have any more injury problems this season. The preparation is very important for me. I feel really well so far but it’s a long time since I played. Last year was very difficult for me because I had a lot of injuries, but this is a new page now. I hope to stay free from injuries and to have a better season.

Despite a disappointing result in Conte’s first game in charge, losing 2-0 in Vienna, the striker is fully focused on bouncing back against RZ Pellets on Wednesday in the final game of Chelsea’s tour of Austria.

The preparations are very different to what we did last season and the one before. With the new staff we have been working very hard and even though the result against Rapid Vienna was disappointing I think we will win the next game. We only came back to training at the start of last week but we have to improve in ever area. Now we have a game on Wednesday and it’s important for us to get a win.
