Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane wants to sign Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, according to a report in the London Evening Standard.
Although Antonio Contre recently told reporters that the Serbian midfielder is not for sale, Zidane is keen to test the validity of that statement, although a bid is yet to be made as Madrid’s club President Florentino Perez would rather spend the transfer fee on Moussa Sissoko.
According to the report, Madrid value both players ar £34million and the manager and President seemingly have different ideas on the type of midfielder they want to bring in.
Zidane seemingly wants the cool, technical, deep-lying player in Matic whilst Perez would prefer to bring in more of a box-to-box type player in Sissoko.
The pair reportedly met earlier this week to decide on a target, but there is no word yet on which of the duo will get their wish.
Despite saying he wants Matic to stay, it remains to be seen if Conte still feels that way if £34millon is put on the table.
