The Premier League returns this weekend, but not for Chelsea. The Blues have to wait until Monday for the visit of London rivals West Ham United, in what will be new Chelsea head coach, Antonio Conte’s first taste of Premier League football.
Last season, these two clubs had contrasting fortunes. The West London side finished 10th, just a season after lifting the Premier League title. Whereas the Claret and Blue side from East London finished above Chelsea in 7th and earned a spot in the Europa League.
For Chelsea, this new season marks a new era under new head coach Conte, whose first taste of English football is a London derby against West Ham. The future looks bright for the visitors too. The Hammers have recently moved into a new stadium, the Olympic Stadium, and will hope this marks a new era at the club.
With Chelsea’s first Premier League game of the 2016/17 coming up, we take a look at the last five results against our opponents, West Ham, and see how they fared in each game.
