Chelsea’s chances of re-signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton look to have been bolstered by Everton’s reported interest in Southampton forward Charlie Austin.
The Evening Standard are suggesting that new Everton boss Ronald Koeman is in the market for two strikers, with Austin being one of the targets.
Koeman spent £4million on the former QPR man in January as Saints manager, and may allow Lukaku to move back to Stamford Bridge should he bring Austin to Goodison Park.

Chelsea have already had a £57million bid rejected by Everton, who are said to value the Belgian at £75million.
However the Evening Standard suggest that the Blues are ready to table a £60million bid, plus striker Loic Remy; a deal which could be of interest for Koeman should he follow up his interest in Austin.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has already strengthened his attacking options with the acquisition of Michy Batshuayi, and adding Lukaku to the mix with Diego Costa as well will give the Blues a formidable attacking line-up.
The Blues have already been handed a boost today with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois stating his desire to stay at the club, and Austin’s potential move to Everton could give the West London side another boost ahead of the season opener against West Ham on Monday evening.
