Chelsea have made a club record £60million bid to Real Madrid for James Rodriguez, according to Neil Fissler of the Daily Express.
According to the report, the Blues have given up hope of re-signing striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton and have decided to use the available funds to bid for an attacking midfielder instead, and it looks like the Colombian international is the man they want.

Florentino Perez, the President of Real Madrid, recently said that the club want to keep hold of Rodriguez, but with the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order, the 25-year-old could well look for a move away.
Chelsea do have a number of options in terms of attacking midfielders too, but Rodriguez is probably a better player than each of them, bar perhaps a fit-and-firing Eden Hazard, so he’d be confident of getting more game time if he does make a switch to London.
