Chelsea shocked the Premier League on transfer deadline day, by completing a deal to re-sign David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain, just two seasons after selling him to the French side.
The Blues have been in the market for a new central defender throughout the market and had been linked with a loan move for Valencia defender, Aymen Abdennour. As well as signing Luiz, Chelsea had previously been linked with two more former players, Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata in the earlier stages of the summer.
Here, we take a look back at four players that Chelsea and re-invested their money in over the years.
