As I’m sure you’re all aware by now, Thursday 29th September saw the release of FIFA 17 in the UK.
So for a bit of fun, and to cheer us up from Chelsea’s last two results in the league, we thought we’d see how the current Chelsea squad do in a Career Mode season if every match was played using the ‘Quick Simulation’ feature.
Making no new signings, despite having significant funds to play with, we started the season using Conte’s favoured starting XI:

A second XI was used to rotate the squad in some cup fixtures or if the starting XI were fatigued:

It’s a good job the board didn’t give Antonio Conte the same objectives given to us on FIFA at the start of the season, as the main goals for the season were to win both the Premier League and FA Cup, with a long-term goal of winning the Champions League within the first two seasons of being in the competition.
The board also set financial targets of how much the club expect to receive from shirt sales and competition prize money, and youth development targets.
But our main focus was to have a bit of fun and see how Conte’s start with Chelsea compares to the Blues’ start on FIFA 17 Career Mode, and whether the board’s targets could be met by just ‘quick-simming’ every match.
