Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Thorgan Hazard has revealed that his brother Eden – who joined Chelsea alongside him in 2012, isn’t the greatest at giving advice to him despite his admirable position as the lynchpin of Chelsea’s attacking threat, as reported by the Express.
Whilst Hazard has enjoyed playing week in week out for the Blues since his £32million arrival four years ago, his brother has not been afforded the same sorts of opportunities during his time at Stamford Bridge – and has since moved to Monchengladbach on a permanent deal.
Following his move Thorgan has established himself as a mainstay in the Bundesliga side – and this season he has already contributed seven goals and three assists in just 10 appearances, including a goal against Barcelona in the Champions League.
Despite his upturn in fortunes Thorgan has revealed that is in no way due to his older brother’s advice, stating in an interview with France Football:
He’s happy for me. He tells me I’m in hot form, but also that I have to keep going like that. We hope we’ll meet up with the national team so that we can play together. But he doesn’t give me any advice in particular. He has his own career to deal with. We’re two different players at two different clubs. He doesn’t bother me by saying, ‘do this, do that…’
Chelsea have until December 31st to activate a £13million buy-back clause that they installed in Thorgan’s contract.
