Chelsea fans have voted for Diego Costa as their Player of the Month for September after we asked for your thoughts as the month passed.
The Spanish forward, who won 81% of votes, scored three goals in four games during September – including an opportunistic overhead kick to equalise against Swansea City. His other goal came in the loss to Liverpool – as he poked in from close-range to give Chelsea a lifeline against the Reds.

Second in our list was Eden Hazard, who was chosen 67% of the time – he played very well against Swansea, with only his poor finishing letting him down. N’Golo Kante’s boundless energy helped him pick up third place on our list – he was picked 42% of the times he featured. Surprisingly Cesc Fabregas was only picked 27% of the time, despite putting in a terrific man of the match performance against Leicester City in the EFL Cup. His lack of playing time probably cost him.
The final player on our list was full-back Cesar Azpilicueta – who’s powerful long-range volley couldn’t prevent him taking the last place on our list. The dreadful performances of his fellow defensive line probably cast the Spaniard in a bad light.
