Chelsea strolled home to a 3-0 win over reigning champions Leicester City.
The Blues dominated the first-half of play against the Foxes, taking the lead within seven minutes – as Diego Costa bundled the ball home unmarked from a Chelsea corner. But despite their dominance, Chelsea toiled in front of goal – and it was not until the 33rd minute when Eden Hazard all but sealed the win with a composed finish, having rounded Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel.
In the second-half Leicester came out with nothing to lose – and their bombardment of the Chelsea backline very nearly paid dividends when David Luiz’s attempted clearance bounced off the inside of the post.
A flurry of substitutions took place, however, as Antonio Conte reverted to a 4-5-1 formation in order to see out the rest of the game – Leicester Brought on Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani to try and bolster their attacking threat. But it would be Chelsea who’d score next – as Victor Moses finished off a delightful flowing move, latching on to a superb back heel by youngster Nathaniel Chalobah.
The result now leaves Chelsea just three points off leaders Manchester City, whilst Leicester have been resigned to 13th in the table.
