Costa warned by Conte following Leicester victory

Costa warned by Conte following Leicester victory

Diego Costa has reportedly been warned by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte following what the Daily Mail call “angry gestures” towards the Chelsea boss during the 3-0 victory over Leicester on Saturday.

Costa opened the scoring with his seventh goal of the season, but the report suggests he was unhappy with the Chelsea boss and signalled for himself to be substituted as he was angered by Conte’s touchline instructions.

The Italian played down the altercation following the match and revealed Costa was trying to avoid picking up a yellow card, which would have seen him miss Sunday’s highly anticipated clash with Manchester United and Jose Mourinho.

However, the paper claims that Conte was, in fact, unhappy with Costa and warned the Spaniard about his conduct following the match.

An argument between the two would certainly be a feisty encounter given the nature of both men, but it appears to have been dealt with in a much calmer manner than a similar incident involving Costa and Jose Mourinho last November.

The Spaniard was again reportedly unhappy with the former Chelsea manager’s touchline instructions and shouted at Mourinho whilst walking down the tunnel at half-time.

The Spaniard was then dropped for Chelsea’s next game against Tottenham, throwing a bib at the former Chelsea boss whilst on the bench.

However, a similar situation happening this weekend seems highly unlikely, as Costa goes in search of his eighth goal of the season when Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea host United.
