Antonio Conte’s side moved with one point of league leaders, Manchester City after beating Manchester United 4-0.
It was an unhappy return to Stamford Bridge for Jose Mourinho when goals from Pedro and Gary Cahill sealed all three points for Conte’s side.
Pedro scored the fastest goal of the season so far, giving Chelsea the lead inside just 30 seconds. Cahill would later smash the ball home from a corner in the 21st minute.
Eden Hazard sealed all three points with 62 minutes on the clock after smashing the ball past David de Gea and in the United net and into the bottom corner.
N’Golo Kante of all people scored the fourth after a mazing run into the United penalty area, sparking mass celebrations among the Chelsea players, who were clearly delighted for the summer arrival.
Stamford Bridge was rocking after the victory and Chelsea make it three wins from three with back-to-back clean sheets.
