Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham has been named as the EFL Young Player of the Month award for his performances for Bristol City in September, the EFL have revealed.
The 19-year-old scored five goals in the second month of the season, helping take his tally to 11 goals in 16 appearances in all competitions.
The striker is now the second highest goalscorer in the EFL Championship this campaign and revealed his delight about winning the monthly accolade.
I’m very pleased. When you have a coach that believes in you and a good crowd supporting you it gives you so much confidence going into games. As soon as I came here I was made to feel welcome and I have a really good bond with the lads. I have a love for the game and always want to do my best.

Abraham’s form for the Robins earned him a call-up to England’s Under-21 squad during the last international break, where the youngster scored twice on his full debut.
And the 19-year-old believes his experience on loan with the Championship side is helping him develop as a player.
I knew what to expect when I came out on loan. The Championship is a hard league and it’s important to have the right mentality. In this league you play against men. You play against players who are stronger than you, faster than you and you have to quickly adapt the way you play.

The Chelsea loanee joins a list of talented youngsters who have previously won the award, including the likes of Dele Alli, Wilfried Zaha, Charlie Austin and Moussa Dembele.
And the promising striker revealed he is excited for his future when he looks at how the previous winners are getting on now.
It gives me that confidence and belief that I can really do well when you look at the past winners. We’ve got off to a really good start here so I just need to keep playing well and scoring goals.
