According to Calcio Mercato, Chelsea are interested in signing Roma defender Antonio Rudiger.
The report says that Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on signing the defender once the transfer window opens for business in January.
Rudiger only recently returned to action after recovering from a serious knee injury but this has not put Chelsea off as they look to go about strengthening their defence.
The 23-year-old played 37 games for Roma last season and heavily impressed at the heart of defence – earning him a call-up to the Germany squad for the European Championships.
However, he suffered a serious knee injury whilst on international duty – which he has only just made his return from.
The former Stuttgart defender already has 11 caps for Germany and looks set for a bright future on the international stage but what about his club career?
Well, it looks as though a move to the Premier League could be on the horizon.
