Life under Antonio Conte got off to the perfect start as Chelsea won their first three league matches, seeing off West Ham, Watford and Burnley in August.
However, the Blues endured a turbulent September and last season’s defensive problems appeared to be coming back to haunt Conte, as the Blues drew 2-2 away to Swansea and lost 2-1 at home to Liverpool, before a damning 3-0 defeat away to Arsenal.
Conte had stuck with a traditional 4-2-3-1 formation until the second-half of the Arsenal match, when the Italian switched to his favoured 3-4-3 in an attempt to change Chelsea’s fortunes.
And I think it’s fair to say he’s done a pretty good job since the switch in formation.
The Blues since have won five league matches on the bounce, scoring 16 goals and keeping a clean sheet in every victory, and turned in one of the best Chelsea performances many of us have seen in a fair few years against Everton last weekend.
The victories over Hull, Leicester, Manchester United, Southampton and Everton have taken Chelsea to second in the league, just a point behind leaders Liverpool as the season reaches another international break.
Here are some of the best images from Chelsea’s season so far:
