Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed that he was violently sick after their recent clash with Southampton.
The Blues travelled down to the South Coast on the 30th October and beat Southampton 2-0, but it was not all plain sailing for Chelsea’s ‘keeper.
Courtois claims that he was very ill after the match, which also led to him bursting a blood vessel in his eyes.
Fans were shocked to see the state of Courtois’s left eye whilst he was sitting on the bench for Belgium yesterday. His eye is swollen and visibly bloodshot, with many worrying about his vision.

However, Courtois claims that, despite its unpleasant look, it does not affect his vision at all and he is able to play with the injury.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the Belgian shot-stopper said this:
I didn’t feel well and was sick and burst a vessel. It’s one of those things that looks worse than it is.
It was alright when it first happened because people thought it was for Halloween. But it doesn’t look so good now. It won’t stop me playing. It’s not a problem in that sense.
