This weekend Chelsea take on Manchester City at the Etihad in a top of the table clash, as the Blues look to consolidate their position at the top of the league going into the festive period.
Both Manchester City and Chelsea continued their push for another Premier League title, with respective 2-1 wins over Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur, as their new managers look to make a substantial impact.
Chelsea player Victor Moses recently followed up his winning goal against fierce London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, by winning the PFA’s November fans’ Player of the Month award.
Manchester City will definitely be without their injury prone captain Vincent Kompany, who has a knee ligament injury.
English pair Fabian Delph and Raheem Sterling will be hoping to be passed fit in time for the game, following respective groin and calf injuries.
Chelsea, on the other hand, will still be without the clubs’ two current longest serving players, who are both stalling over contract renewals – captain John Terry and Nigerian midfielder Mikel John Obi, who have respective gluteal and muscle injuries.
Manchester City dominated proceedings last season, comfortably winning both games 3-0, as they ran surprise champions Leicester City close for the Premier League title, with Chelsea slumping to a very disappointing 10th place finish.
Although a weakened City team were soundly beaten 5-1 by Chelsea in last season’s FA Cup.
