Antonio Conte’s Chelsea made it 10 league wins on the spin on Wednesday night with a 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light against David Moyes and Sunderland.
During their 10-game stretch, the Blues have scored 24 goals and conceded twice, collecting eight clean sheets in that span.
The win marked Chelsea’s 13th on the season – which is now more than they won in all of last season (12) – and keeps the Blues atop the Premier League table with 40 points, which is six points clear of Liverpool and Arsenal.
Sunderland showed signs of life throughout a first half that was largely dominated by Chelsea. The breakthrough came in the 40th minute via Cesc Fabregas.
The goal started when N’Golo Kante won a header in the midfield, finding Pedro. The Spaniard played to Fabregas, who played a give-and-go with Willian. Fabregas’ low shot from 20 yards out went through a sliding Papy Djilobodji before finding the back of the net.
Chelsea’s next match will be Saturday at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace, but here’s what we learnt from Wednesday’s win.
