Chelsea set a new club record for consecutive wins, picking up a twelveth win in a row against Bournemouth on Boxing Day.
Bournemouth were impressive against the Blues, dominating possession and creating some good goal scoring opportunities, but were ultimately picked off by the counter-attacking brilliance of Pedro and Eden Hazard.
Midway through the first-half Chelsea took the lead, as Spanish winger Pedro, who was excellent all game, picked up a Cesc Fabregas pass before picking out the far corner with an excellent finish.
Eddie Howe’s men could’ve quite easily have gone into the break on level terms, an untroubled Thibaut Courtois expertly denied Jack Wilshere from close range.
The game was all but put to bed just four minutes after the interval, however, as Hazard slotted home from the penalty spot, for his 50th Premier League goal, and his ninth of the season.
After the goal, Bournemouth pushed on in search of a goal that could replicate the late drama of the Liverpool game but again they were denied by Courtois.
With just seconds remaining, Pedro grabbed his second of the game – with a mazy run from deep capped off with a deflected shot from 20 yards out.
