Antonio Conte’s side have stunned their Premier League rivals this term after racing away to an early season lead in the title race.
A lot of this is down to the continuity in the team. A settled midfield with N’Golo Kante and one of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas rotating alongside him have helped Chelsea stay so strong, but the Italian is looking to Serie A to bring in a fresh face.
According to France Football (h/t GFFN), Liverpool have made an enquiry into the availability of Inter Milan powerhouse Geoffrey Kondogbia this month.
The 23-year-old signed for the San Siro club in July 2015 for a reported £30m from Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco but has been in and out of the team, especially this season, making just 11 Serie A appearances this term.
It’s understood that Inter are looking to offload the France international this month and are hopeful they’ll find a taker. Chelsea do face competition for Kondogbia however, with Liverpool said to be interested in his services also.
Chelsea have watched Oscar and John Obi Mikel leave the club this month for the financial rewards in China which has left them short in midfield, which would make a move for Kondogbia sensible, to say the least.
