Antonio Conte is looking at bringing in Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin, as a replacement for the outgoing 29-year-old shot-stopper Asmir Begovic, who has been linked with a move to Premier League outfit Bournemouth. According to Italian outlet, Calcio Mercato.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of goalkeepers from across Europe since news emerged that Begovic was likely to leave the club in January – with Celtic’s Graig Gordon, Galatasaray’s Fernando Muslera and Espanyol’s Diego Lopez all linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the past week or so.
But according to reports Perin is the next name to take Conte’s fancy, having worked with the 24-year-old during his time in charge of the Italian national team, where he handed him his first senior cap for the Azzurri.
The Italian shot-stopper, however, has only just stepped up his recovery from a long-term knee injury – his second in the just 12 months, and as a result, he may well be reluctant to make such a high-profile move so early in his career.
