Conte takes Italy trip to scout Juventus defender

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte spent rest of his weekend in Italy, where he was reportedly watching Juventus defender, Alex Sandro.

It is reported by Calcio Mercato that Conte was said to be looking on at the Brazilian talent that is Alex Sandro, during the Derby d’Italia, in which Juventus won the game 1-0.

Sandro’s defensive and attacking capabilities are said to have caught the eye of the Chelsea head coach.

The Brazilian would be an excellent fit to the wing-back position that Conte has implemented using his 3-4-3 formation at Chelsea.

Sandro’s potential acquisition would come at the expense of current Chelsea starter – Marcos Alonso.

Albeit Alonso’s marvellous run of current form, there are many questions surrounding the Spaniards ability to perform at the level Conte demands, week-in-week-out.

In comparison to Alonso, Sandro has more interceptions, blocks, tackles won, key passes and chances created this season.

Along with those eye-opening stats, Sandro also has a higher pass completion and aerial duels won percentage in comparison to the current Chelsea man.
