Sead Kolasinac projects to be one of the most sought-after free agents in the summer when his contract with Schalke expires in June.
The left-back is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs including Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton but according to the Mirror, Chelsea are growing increasingly confident of landing the defender.
Kolasinac is one of the best young fullbacks in European football today and the 23-year-old is eager to move to the Premier League, with Everton reportedly having offered the player wages in excess of £100,000-a-week.
Serie A trio Juventus, AC Milan and Roma are all interested in the defender should he opt for a move to Italy.
Chelsea tried and failed with a late January bid for Kolasinac as Schalke were unable to replace him in time but the Blues believe they will win the race for his signature in the summer.
Schalke will be short of left-back options next season as Dennis Aogo is also out of contract while Abdul Baba-Rahman, who has been injured for much of the season, will return to Chelsea when his loan expires.
