Chelsea will need to continue adding depth to their squad in the summer if they want to build on their strong start to life under Antonio Conte.
One of the players they reportedly have their eyes on is Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that Manchester United are ready to pay £51m to beat the Blues to the Croatian’s signature.
The former Wolfsburg and Dortmund man has nine goals and six assists in Serie A this season and is available for transfer, the Italian news outlet claims.
Jose Mourinho is said to be a huge fan of the 28-year-old and has made signing him one of the club’s top priorities when the transfer window opens up at the end of the season.
Inter Milan have ruled out selling Mauro Icardi but are open to offloading Perisic as they look to keep in line with Financial Fair Play regulations imposed by UEFA.
Perisic is under contract at the San Siro until 2020 but if Inter miss out on Champions League football then a move to the Premier League may make a lot of sense.
