Chelsea are reportedly the latest team to join the chase to sign coveted Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy.
According to a report from the Mirror this evening, the Blues are set to go toe-to-toe with some of the best clubs in the country as they look to bring Mendy to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Signed only last summer from rivals Marseille for a now-lowly fee of £13 million, the Monaco man has been in sublime form for them in both Ligue 1 and in the Champions League, prominently featuring in the round of 16 clash against Manchester City over both legs.
The report states that Mendy could cost around £25 million, which is quite the fee for a full-back. However, it’d almost certainly be a worthwhile investment given that the Frenchman is just 22-years-old.
Manchester City and Liverpool are both keen to sign Mendy, but the Blues will hope to lure him to London this summer.
