Four Chinese clubs to battle for Chelsea star this Summer

According to Goal, four teams from the Chinese Super League remain interested in signing Diego Costa from Chelsea this summer.

Costa has not been in the hot form he was in the first half of the season, having just scored three times in 2017, having scored 14 goals in the first half.

A host of rumours were circulating around the Spaniard in January, after admitting that he hoped to rejoin Atletico Madrid before the start of 2017. The striker’s future remains uncertain with the rumours appearing to play their part in the player’s downward spiral in form this season.

Guangzhou Evergrande, Hebei China Fortune and Jiangsu Suning are all keen to bring the Spanish international to the Chinese Super League.

Tianjin’s billionaire owner Shu Yuhui is still keen on Costa as they await the reopening of the Chinese Super League transfer window on June 19. Tianjin originally made a usual ‘triple-your-wages’ offer to Costa after meeting his agent Jorge Mendes in China.

Chelsea could have earned over £70 million from the sale of their main striker but they were unwilling to negotiate for the Spain international because of their Premier League title race, but there are still hopes in China that Blues will be saying goodbye to Costa in the summer.
