Chelsea are back in Premier League action in a midweek fixture against Southampton on Tuesday, hoping to remain on course for the Premier League title.
The Blues booked their spot in the FA Cup final on Saturday, beating title rivals Tottenham 4-2 at Wembley. A Willian double, Eden Hazard, and a thunderbolt from Nemanja Matic sent Chelsea through and will be in the Final on the 27th of May.
Chelsea’s last Premier League fixture wasn’t as successful, however. Antonio Conte’s side lost 2-0 to Manchester United, with Chelsea’s gap at the top of the league being cut to only four points.
Southampton didn’t have a game this week, as this fixture was rescheduled for Tuesday due to Chelsea’s FA Cup commitments. Their most recent fixture came against Manchester City on April 15th, with City winning 3-0.
The two sides have already met once this season, with Chelsea coming out as 2-0 winners at St Mary’s. Goals from Hazard and Diego Costa were enough to give Chelsea all three points.
