At one point back in January, it looked like Diego Costa’s Chelsea career could be over as he’d seemingly had his head turned by a big money offer from the Chinese Super League.
The Spaniard was dropped for a game against Leicester City and it looked like he might be sold but the striker settled his differences with manager Antonio Conte, although it’s fair to say that his form hasn’t been great since the incident.
Well, history looks like it could be about to repeat itself with Matt Law of the Telegraph reporting that CSL side Tianjin Quanjian are confident of making him the most expensive player in the league’s history.

They are apparently willing to pay £76million for the striker, £5million more than Shanghai Shenhua paid for Carlos Tevez, and are also willing to give him a massive £25million a year in salary, which works out at roughly £480,000-a-week.
The report states that Chelsea unlikely to turn down such a large offer for Costa as his contract expires in two years and this is likely to be the stage where his value is at its highest.
