Bertrand Traore told the Evening Standard that he hopes he’s done enough during his Ajax loan spell to secure a place in Chelsea’s first team next season.
The Metro reported that it is unclear whether the youngster will be part of the Premier League champion’s plans, with some big-name signings being linked with the club.
The 21-year-old signed for Chelsea back in 2013 but didn’t make his first-team debut until the 2015/16 season.
Last summer the Burkina Faso international was awarded a new three-year deal with the Blues, before joining Dutch side Ajax on a season-long loan deal to get regular game time.
Traore scored 14 goals in 43 appearances for the Europa League runners-up this season.
When asked whether he was planning to remain at Chelsea next season, Traore answered: “That’s my hope. That was the key when I came to Ajax – play as many (games) as I could, do well, and try to go back to Chelsea. I think I had a great season.”
So far Traore has just four goals in 16 senior appearances for Chelsea, but is hoping to add to that tally by remaining at the club next season.
