Nemanja Matic has been a vital cog in Chelsea’s illustrious 2016/17 league campaign and made 35 appearances throughout. However, with just two years remaining on his current deal with the club, talks are stalling on a new offer.
The Daily Mail claim that Matic has struggled to reach an agreement with the club for a new deal at Stamford Bridge and may have to turn to an option away from the Premier League champions.
The report goes on to say that José Mourinho may be looking to bring the Serbian to Old Trafford as he aims to balance his midfield ahead of a busy schedule next season.
The question that remains unanswered is whether Blues boss Antonio Conte sees Matic as part of his plans as Chelsea aim to retain the Premier League title next term.
It seems we will have to find out over the course of the summer, as no official announcement has been made as of yet.
