Chelsea look to be edging ever closer to completing a move for AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko.
According to a report from the Independent, Chelsea remain in talks with the Ligue 1 champions over a potential summer move, and Antonio Conte is keen to speed up the process.
Bakayoko has been one of Monaco’s key players of late and has impressed on several occasions, leading to plenty of interest from across the continent.
It’s stated in the report that Conte is a keen admirer of Bakayoko and is insistent that he is added to Chelsea’s rank in order to provide extra energy to the midfield.
Although the Blues have an abundance of quality at their disposal in the centre of midfield, with the likes of N’Golo Kanté, Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas all showing their class this season, depth will be necessary in the coming campaign as Champions League football will be back.
However, Matic has been linked with a move away and Manchester United are stated to be keeping track of his situation.
