Chelsea have reportedly agreed a fee with AS Monaco to sign midfield unit Tiemoue Bakayoko.
A report from French newspaper L’Equipe, as cited by Metro, states that the Blues have had a £35 million offer accepted by the Ligue 1 champions. L’Equipe say that Chelsea’s board are hoping they can announce the transfer as soon as next week.
Bakayoko is very much a physical player and was impressive for Monaco in their recent campaign.

L’Equipe go on to say that Bakayoko is ‘enthusiastic’ about the prospect of working with Antonio Conte, which could have been a deciding factor between signing for Chelsea or Manchester United.
It’s understood that Chelsea have been deep in negotiations with the French club for over a month now, but faced competition from Jose Mourinho’s side.
With Bakayoko looking poised to sign for the London club, it’s reported that United will look to his current midfield partner Fabinho to bolster their options in midfield.
