Chelsea are interested in signing defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund, according to a report from Goal.
The 29-year-old is keen to win a league title in the next few years and the combination of Bayern Munich’s dominance in Germany, the dramatic rise od RB Leipzig as contenders and a new managerial regime taking over at Dortmund are all adding to the difficulties of winning a title with his current club.

The Greek international is reportedly on Chelsea’s list of targets, alongside Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk and Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci, whilst he’s also of interest to Arsene Wenger with the Arsenal boss keen to add at least one more centre back to his squad ahead of next season.
Sokratis made 26 league starts last season under Thomas Tuchel and Dortmund are not under any pressure to sell as his contract runs until 2019.
It looks like Sokratis isn’t one of Chelsea’s top targets and that he’s on their radar if they can’t get deals done for the players the club wants.
