Chelsea were hoping to add to their midfield with the addition of Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso this summer but it appears as if the Blues have missed out on his signature.

According to French source Canal+ (h/t GFFN), Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso is expected to arrive in Munich this afternoon to undergo a medical ahead of a transfer.
The Blues were believed to have made a €35m bid to sign the 22-year-old midfielder this summer but it appears as if Bundesliga champions Bayern have pipped them to the signing.
Earning his first France cap back in March, Tolisso scored 14 times last season and offered up seven assists for Lyon in 47 appearances which has elevated him amongst some of Europe’s top young midfielders.
Tolisso was also a reported target for Juventus, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City but it seems that Bayern have won the race to sign him and Chelsea will turn their attentions to other targets.
