Hull boss Slutsky reveals discussions with Abramovich

Newly-appointed Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky has revealed that he has held talks with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich regarding some potential business between the two clubs this summer.

Slutsky discussed his move to Hull with Sky Sports and made reference to his discussions with friend and compatriot Abramovich.

In the Championship we have some loan options. It’s four players from one team, and it’s a possible situation to get some players from Chelsea. We spoke with him about this situation, but it’s not the absolute option. If we need some players, I think it’s possible.

Off the back of Hull’s relegation to the Championship, it’s clear to see that they will need fresh blood in order to revitalise themselves and push back into the top flight.

In doing so, Slutsky has set his sights on Chelsea’s young guns to fire the Tigers back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Chelsea have a lot of serious players – 37 on loan altogether, all over Europe. I think we will have some opportunities but I won’t speak about each player.

I am very thankful to Mr Abramovich – he really helped me. He recommended me to Riversdown school [for English lessons] and helped me with tickets for each match, and I watched a lot of training sessions at Chelsea.

The Blues have developed something of a reputation for loaning their talented youngsters elsewhere, with a partnership with Vitesse Arnhem out in Holland being a prominent feature, but it looks as though Slutsky is keen to build his side with a few Chelsea players at his disposal.

I don’t think he will be disappointed with his decision to help me, but he can’t help me on the football pitch.
