Juventus ready to sell Chelsea target Bonucci for €50m
Playing a system which requires three centre-backs does mean that Chelsea will need more than the normal amount of players able to play that position.
With John Terry gone and Kurt Zouma likely to follow on a season-long loan deal, Antonio Conte has been heavily linked with a swoop for Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci.
Conte worked with the 30-year-old at Juventus and with the Italian national side and is aware of what the veteran centre-back can offer Chelsea.
One of the best ball-playing defenders in world football, Bonucci would be a welcome addition to any defence and has hinted that he could be leaving Turin this summer.
According to Premium Sport in Italy (h/t City Watch ), Juventus would be begrudgingly willing to part ways with Bonucci if they receive an offer in excess of €50m (£44m).
Manchester City failed with a huge bid for the defender last summer and Pep Guardiola is interested in bringing him to the Etihad this summer, but Chelsea are also keen to secure his services for the foreseeable future.
