Chelsea to loan out five players to make way for new signing

To make room for new recruits this summer, Antonio Conte is planning on loaning out five members of his first-team squad this summer, according to the Metro.

With the £36m arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco said to be nearing its completion, Chelsea are going to allow Nathaniel Chalobah to leave on loan again this summer.

Chalobah has already had six loan spells away from Stamford Bridge in his career to date and hoped that he had finally made his first-team breakthrough last season, making 16 appearances as the Blues won the Premier League, but it appears Conte wants to send him out on another loan move.

Despite scoring the title-clinching goal, Michy Batshuayi really hasn’t lived up to his £33m price-tag just yet and Chelsea, who are looking at Romelu Lukaku, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele as potential summer arrivals, want to give the Belgian first-team opportunities elsewhere to further his development.

West Ham have been long-term admirers of Batshuayi, while Everton have also been linked with a move for the former Marseille man.

Kurt Zouma made just three Premier League starts under Conte last season and Chelsea want to loan him out given their plans to bring in a big-name centre-back with Leonardo Bonucci and Virgil van Dijk linked.

Midfielders Lewis Baker and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are also tipped to leave the Blues on loan deals this summer.
