Chelsea are among a host of clubs that are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Calhanoglu, according to Turkish newspaper Aksam, as quoted by Sky Sports.
The Blues, along with Everton and Lazio, are keen to on signing the 23-year-old playmaker and Leverkusen are holding out for a fee in the region of £22m after Lazio saw a £13.3m bid turned down.
German news outlet Bild believe that Calhanoglu wants to play in England amid further interest from north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal but now AC Milan have joined the race for his signature according to Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio.
The San Siro club have made an opening enquiry into signing the Turk but are yet to make a bid this summer, along with Chelsea in that regard.
Chelsea want to add some more options in attack this summer and Calhaloglu, who can play in an advanced midfield role or on the wings, could be a very astute purchase.
It seems likely that Calhanoglu will be on the move this summer, whether it’s to Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Lazio or Milan remains to be seen.
