Bournemouth reportedly close to sealing permanent Ake deal

According to the Mirror, south coast side Bournemouth are confident of completing a £20million deal for centre-back Nathan Ake.

Ake spent part of last season out on loan with the Cherries and certainly made a good impression. He became a mainstay in what was a leaky backline, and contributed at both ends of the pitch.

The Dutchman was recalled by the Blues at the halfway point of the campaign and made appearances in the FA cup semi-final and a few games towards the end of Chelsea’s title winning season.

Ake is said to believe that game time at Stamford Bridge could be limited next term and he is open to a move elsewhere.

The Mirror’s report states that it is highly unlikely that the champions will allow a permanent deal to go through before they have lined up their own reinforcements.

Bournemouth were even said to be keen on ex-Blues captain John Terry, but have since turned their attention to Ake.

Southampton and Leicester have also been linked with respective moves for the Dutchman.
