Zouma aiming to stay at Chelsea

Kurt Zouma has expressed his desire to remain at Chelsea this summer amid numerous links away.

Speaking to France Football, as cited by West London Sport, Zouma said:

“I am very happy at Chelsea. I hear the rumours. It’s flattering.”

“It means I’m a player people are looking at, but I am not going to stop there. My objective is to stay at Chelsea.”

Zouma acknowledged the tight schedule that the Blues will face next term, and sees this as an opportunity to stake a claim in the starting lineup.

After rupturing his cruciate ligament back in February of 2016, Zouma missed several months of game time but managed to get back into the squad at the backend of last season.

He managed to complete 90 minutes of football on just one occasion – the penultimate game of the campaign at home to Watford.

Zouma will reportedly be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge this summer on a loan deal, with Chelsea having an abundance of top quality central defenders available to them.

However, it looks like he’s keen to stay put.
