Chelsea and Roma are in talks over a possible transfer of Antonio Rudiger, according to Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio.
Di Marzio reports that talks have been ongoing as Chelsea look to bolster their defensive options by bringing the German defender to Stamford Bridge. Antonio Conte has already allowed John Terry to leave and has sold youngster Nathan Ake to Bournemouth for £20 million, money he may use to recoup Rudiger.
Rudiger, 24, has impressed with Roma during the previous campaign and is valued at around £30 million. The German is currently away with his national side at the Confederations Cup and can also play at right-back as well as his preferred central role.
Conte is keen to bolster his squad this summer and with owner Roman Abramovich admitting there are funds to spend, Conte may waste no time in making his move for the highly rated defender.
