It has been well documented that Atletico Madrid and Diego Costa both want to ensure that a del gets done to secure a return to Spain but with Atleti’s transfer ban, the deal is proving difficult to get done.
Atletico have a transfer ban in place this summer which means the next opportunity they have to register a player is in January.
The Mirror claim that the Spanish side are so desperate to get their man that they have apparently set up a training programme for Costa to keep him match fit whilst he is not playing games.

Costa was a big part in Chelsea winning the Premier League last season as he added 20 goals and 8 assists in the league alone.
The Spanish striker revealed publicly that Antonio Conte told him that he has no future at Chelsea, the result of their relationship deteriorating during the course of the title-winning season for the Blues.
However, as much as Atletico want Costa to return, its said they are only offering £22m plus add-ons for the striker and that certainly won’t be enough to make Chelsea let him go.
It is clear Costa is unlikely to be playing for Chelsea this season with the Blues lining up their own re-union with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, with that transfer expected to take place soon as Chelsea aim for back-to-back title wins.
