Chelsea have reignited their interest in attempting to bring Swansea striker Fernando Llorente to Stamford Bridge, according to The Times.
The Spaniard is not thought to be manager Antonio Conte’s first choice striker for the upcoming season, but sees him as a perfect back-up option ahead of their title defence, and may attempt to bring him to West London this summer.
The Premier League champions attempted to sign Llorente back in January, however, Swansea blocked any developments six months ago and the former Sevilla man helped guide the Welsh side to safety.
Llorente, 32, is currently recovering after breaking an arm on holiday but is thought to be making a quick recovery and should be fit for the start of the season.
The forward, who found the back of the net 15 times last season, is now entering into the final 12 months of his contract, however, Swansea manager Paul Clement is determined to keep his star striker.
After the news earlier today that Chelsea are set to lose out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United, Conte will be on the search again for a first choice forward. Llorente isn’t thought to be that man, instead, if he signs, he’ll be a squad bolster player for the Italian.
