Chelsea target Alvaro Morata has reportedly changed his mind surrounding his future, and now favours a move to Stamford Bridge.
The news from the Independent comes after reports that Manchester United have opted to sign Everton forward Romelu Lukaku instead of the Spaniard. It is stated that Morata, himself, believed he was set to be a United player as recently as yesterday.
But with substantial links from various outlets suggesting that United have turned their attention away from the Real Madrid man, the striker has fallen back on the option of signing for Chelsea.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is believed to be keen on Morata, and wanted him at the club when he took over last summer. It is claimed that the feeling is mutual, with Morata said to have ‘always wanted to play for Conte’ since his time with Italian giants Juventus.
The Independent’s report goes on to say that contact between Chelsea and Real had gone quiet while the Blues targeted Lukaku, but now that they have switched their intention to signing Morata – talks could begin in the coming days.
